All change

I set up this blog with my husband John when we were running a business selling Kleeneze. Since then I have left my husband and the Company that was Kleeneze has ceased trading. (Not because of us).

Three years ago I moved in with my mother whilst I got myself sorted out after leaving my husband. I figured that I would give myself 6 months to get my act together, find somewhere to live and become independent again. Not long after moving here my good friend Lorna told me that she had joined Avon and would love for me to join her team. I said no. I had loved doing Avon 20+ years ago when my family were very young. I had stopped when we as a family had moved. By this time I had 4 young sons and was working part time. That was enough for me to deal with.

Moving on whilst assisting ( taking over) my husband with his Kleeneze business I again took up Avon as he wasn’t making much effort with the Kleeneze. After 6 months I gave up the Avon I was finding it too much dealing with a home, working full time and doing 95% of the kleeneze business. (my husband is an alcoholic). So when Lorna suggested I join her on her Avon journey I declined. At that time I was earning a living by delivering parcels for Hermes. It was hard work but i enjoyed it. Several months down the line I found that I missed the community I was part of with the Kleeneze Company. I decided to give it another go with Avon. I actually had three women I knew asking me to join them. I chose to go with Lorna as I had a closer friendship with her than the other two ladies who I also consider friends.

At that time I decided that I would join Avon but only as a Rep and only selling online. It didn’t take me long to change my mind. When out delivering parcels I began asking if my parcel customers would be interested in seeing an Avon brochure. It wasn’t long before I had 50 customers on my parcel route. I combined the two. delivering books at the same time as parcels. Quickly I found that I was hungry for more. I canvassed the road where I was now living. Suddenly I knew quite a few people in the road where I had previously known just our nextdoor neighbours and the couple across from us. It will probably sound crazy but I was missing recruiting a team not that I had ever been successful recruiting more than a couple of people in Kleeneze. I gave in and signed up to grow a team. I now have my Sunshine Team. At present we are only a small team. I currently have 9 active Reps in my team.

Now that I am permanently living with my mother. Her MS has progressed and she cannot now live on her own any longer. I am now her live in carer. I had to give up the parcels two years ago due to my health issues. I am so glad that I had agreed to join Lorna in her Avon journey. She has grown a very successful business. She and her husband now work with Avon as their full time occupation. I find now that Avon is my sanity. It gets me out of the house, I occasionally even get to speak to someone (at a distance). Without Avon I would be stuck at home all day everyday, reading, knitting and looking after my mother’s needs. I wouldn’t have a life outside the house.

I do have a family. I have four grown up sons and two young grandchildren. I don’t see them often as they are spread out across South Eastern England. Only one lives less than an hour from me. We all keep in contact regularly and I’m hoping to see the little ones and their parents in the next week once the Lockdown restrictions have eased enough to allow for this.

Anyway in a nutshell ( a rather long winded nutshell). My life has changed and so is this blog changing. It never really got off the ground before but maybe this time I shall be more proactive.
